PART 2 - From Pastor Kris: Then we sailed to Kom Ombo to see the Kom Ombo Temple, dedicated to the crocodile god, Sobek. We saw some mummified crocs. Yup, that’s a real thing! We have not seen any of the living Nile crocs, though. We also soaked up some sun on the top of the ship as we continue to make our way down the Nile. We have two more days of sight-seeing before we begin the journey home.

PART 1 - From Pastor Kris: On Wednesday, Katie and I went to the Edfu Temple, dedicated to the falcon-headed god, Horus. It is one of the best preserved temples in Egypt.

Hello Hosanna! Over the last couple of days, we flew from Cairo to Luxor, visited the Karnak and Luxor Temples, the Valley of the Kings - where many pharaohs, including King Tut - were buried, saw the Colossi of Memnon, and visited the Temple of Hatshepsut. We are now on a cruise ship sailing down the Nile!

Sharing more from Pastor Kris and Katie’s Egyptian trip: On Sunday, we visited the Great Pyramids of Giza, saw the Great Sphinx (one of the seven wonders of the ancient world), and went to the Grand Egyptian Museum. We also ate lunch at a local restaurant and saw a demonstration on how papyrus scrolls are made by hand.

Did I mention we rode camels and did you know camels make a weird gurgling noise? It was a great day!

It’s a reunion of Hosanna pastors here in Egypt!! Can you name these three pastors who have served at Hosanna, past and present??

Wow -- a lot of you knew who they are. John Bjorge, Amie Odahl and Pastor Kris. Also, on the trip is the deacon from the church Renee Patterson is serving on. And Pastor Kris met a good friend of Pastor Dave who is a pastor in Colorado Springs. Small world (in Luther Land).

January 10, 2026 -  An update from Pastor Kris:

Katie and I made it to the very top of Mount Sinai for the beautiful Saturday morning sunrise. Our ascent started at 1 am and we arrived around 4 am, spending some time with the Bedouins before climbing the last of the 750 steps of repentance for the 6:30 am sunrise. Honestly, we think there were way more steps than that. It sure hurts like there were!

Thank you to everyone who pledged to support us, prayed for us, and encouraged us! We really appreciate it! Trust that every penny pledged for Hosanna was a very hard-earned one! Oh and by the way, our guide was named …Moses!

It's not too late to congratulate Pastor Kris' on her accomplish of making it to the top of Mount Sanai by donating: https://secure.myvanco.com/YNNM/home.

Thank you for showing your support.
